Incident Log

June 29 to July 6, 2019 District One- (Blackwater)

Aggravated Assault - Suspect(s) arrived at the victim’s residence in an unknown vehicle and began honking the car horn. The victim awoke due to the car horn and went to his front door to investigate. As the victim opened the door the suspect(s) fired shots at him striking him on the left side of his abdomen. Other residents within the home contacted law enforcement and officers responded to investigate. Gila River Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local trauma hospital for further medical care of his life threatening wound.Status: On-going Investigation

 

Theft – Suspect(s) entered the victim’s vehicle while it was parked in Sparrow Circle Housing and stole the victim’s loaded firearms from the trunk of his vehicle. The victim did not realize the items were missing until the following morning. Law enforcement was notified and officers responded to investigate the incident. Officers entered the items as missing into the national database. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Theft – Suspect(s) stole a firearm from the victim’s residence during a 4th of July party. The victim did not realize the items were missing until the following morning. Law enforcement was notified and officers responded to investigate the incident. Officers entered the item as missing into the national database. Status: On-going Investigation

 

 

District Two – (Sacaton Flats) 

No Incidents Involving Part 1 Crime

 

 

District Three- (Sacaton)

Aggravated Assault – The suspect assaulted the victim, his girlfriend, with a metal blunt object on the back of the head causing a large wound which required outside intervention to stop the bleeding. The suspect continued to assault the victim until a third party intervened. The suspect fled upon police notification. Officers responded, located and arrested the suspect for aggravated assault. Status: Suspect was arrested.

District Four- 

 

 

Stotonic Area – 

Theft – Suspect(s) stole several items out of parked vehicles while at the District 4 Service Center. Security located and detained the individuals until law enforcement officers could arrive. All stolen items were returned to their rightful owners. Status: Charges forwarded on four juveniles to the Prosecutor’s office.

 

Auto Theft – Suspect(s) stole the victim’s vehicle, a white Chevrolet Malibu, from the carport of her residence. The vehicle was later involved in a motor vehicle accident and the occupants fled the scene. Law enforcement was notified and officers responded to investigate the incident. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Aggravated Assault – The suspect assaulted the victim and strangled her during a domestic altercation. Law enforcement was notified and officers responded to investigate the incident. Officers located and detained the suspect for questioning. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her non-life threatening injuries. Status: The suspect was arrested.

 

Aggravated Assault – The suspect assaulted the victim and an infant after getting into a verbal altercation which escalated.  The suspect pulled the victim out of the car by pulling her hair and onto the ground, all while the victim was holding onto the infant.  Once on the ground, the suspect placed his knee on the back of the victim’s neck to prevent her from standing up.  The victim was on her side and face down where she could not breathe and her face was on top of a thorn-like brush, causing further pain and difficulty to breath. While on top of the suspect punched the victim on the head a few times; where she felt dizzy (while holding the infant the entire time); the suspect grabbed the victim and placed the victim on the ground (the pavement was hot due to 105-degree air temp) and made a comment of running over the child. The suspect left the area prior to officer arrival; medical attention was given to the victims. Aggravated Assault – DV Charges are being long forwarded to law office for review. Status: Charges Forwarded to the Gila River Office of the Prosecutor

 

Theft (from vehicle) - An unknown subject took a wallet with items. GRPD responded regarding a theft that may have occurred at the District 4 Service Center. Upon arrival the victim told officers they were at a fireworks event at the District 4 Service Center last night. It was discovered this morning that a rose gold, Samsung cell was missing along with a tribal ID and a Percap card.  These items were inside the car which was parked on the west entrance of the District 4 Park. The victim was told by her brother that her car appeared to be “trashed” and the doors were unlocked with the inside dome light on.  The door locks are manual and they didn’t appear to be damaged; the back hatch does not lock. Currently there are no suspects, this case will be closed pending further suspect identification. Status: On-going Investigation

 

 

Lone Butte Area 

Auto Theft - An unknown subject(s) stole a blue in color Toyota Camry from the parking lot of Wild Horse Pass. Limited information available during initial investigation. Vehicle entered with a NCIC as stolen. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Shoplifting - an unknown female subject shoplifted two shirts from the Tommy Hilfiger store within the Phoenix Premium Outlet mall. Due to the inability to identify or make contact with the female subject, no charges will be forwarded at this time. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Shoplifting - an unidentified female subject was suspected of shoplifting a pair of shoes from the Famous Footwear at the Phoenix Premium Outlets. This report is for documentation purposes only; No charges will be forwarded at this time. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Shoplifting – Officers responded to the Phoenix Premium Outlets - Tommy Hilfiger in regards to shoplifting. Store employee reported a male subject stole several items within the store and was caught leaving the facility. The male subject was later identified and detained awaiting police arrival; contact was made with the suspect, who asked if he could pay for the items and the store declined. Charges of shoplifting are being forwarded to Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Status: Charges forwarded

 

Shoplifting - police responded to The Tommy Hilfiger clothing store at the Phoenix Premium Outlets reference a shoplifting. Through further investigation it was discovered the juvenile suspect concealed two shirts (which he had not paid for) and attempted to leave the store. The suspect’s mother was contacted and signed a criminal citation (as a promissory notice to appear at The Kyrene Justice of the Peace Court) for her son in regards to the shoplifting. Status: Charges forwarded 

 

Shoplifting – Officers were dispatched to the Phoenix Premium Outlet Tommy Hilfiger Store in reference to a report of a shoplifting that occurred by two unknown suspects. Video surveillance shows the suspects had both shoplifted merchandise and removed the security tag before placing it into a Nike bag. The couple walked out of the store and activated a soft tag on two shirts they had placed in the bag without paying. No other investigative leads were located at this time other then the physical description provided by the security footage. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Shoplifting – Officer was dispatched to Phoenix Premium Outlet in reference to a shoplifting that had just occurred. The store employee stated two teenage females arrived at the store with a child and began to walk around the store. One of the female subjects began walking towards the doors of the business. The store employee walked to the second subject, who began to run to the exit doors and were gone in an unknown direction. Three backpacks and a pair of men’s joggers were taken. Upon suspect identification the store is wishing to aide in prosecution. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Theft (from a vehicle) – Officers were dispatched to a telephonic call for service in reference to a theft at the Phoenix Premium Outlet. In calling the victim, it was reported that an unknown suspect had taken items from the victim’s vehicle including cash, a credit card, a pair of Oakley sunglasses and paperwork with personal information on the documents. There were no signs of forced entry; a search of the area where the vehicle was parked was conducted and no findings of the missing items were located. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Theft - unknown subject(s) stole: 2 rings, Fitbit monitor and a Tag Heuer watch from the pool area of the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass. Limited information was available during the investigation and no video footage available. Report was taken on the request of the victim.  Status: On-going Investigation

 

Theft - at Lone Butte Casino, a theft investigation was conducted. Investigation revealed the victim left her black purse unattended in the bingo hall. An unknown female subject discovered the purse and right away left the casino on foot. Report was taken for documentation purposes. Status: On-going Investigation

District Five- (Casa Blanca)

Aggravated Assault – Officers responded to a residence where the reporting party advised a fight in progress. Upon arrival the reporting party advised officers to enter the residence as they were still fighting in the laundry room. The suspect was arrested after an investigation revealed by multiple witnesses he assaulted the first victim and the second victim tried to intervene and the suspect attempted to stab victim 2  with a knife. The suspect was booked into jail at the Gila River Department of Rehabilitation and Supervision without further incident on the above listed charges. The knife and sharpened file used in the incident were booked into evidence and the photos were uploaded into evidence.com Status: The suspect was arrested and booked into jail

 

District Six – (Komatke)

Burglary - an unknown person broke the front window and made entry into the house and took a wallet belonging to the victim. Cash, various bank cards and a tribal ID card were in the wallet taken. No suspect was identified in this incident.  Status: On-going Investigation

 

Burglary – Officers were dispatched to a DPW building where an employee reported a theft of an air conditioning unit. Investigation revealed the suspect(s) entered a small equipment building and turned off the power. After turning the power off they cut through wires and the piping in order to pry the air conditioning unit out. No other property was taken or damaged. When examining the area a door was observed to be unsecure; the door was reported to be unsecure from the last incident where unknown suspect(s) entered the area. There were no leads in identifying the suspects and no security footage available. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Theft – The suspect was suspected of committing theft against the victim by taking her cellphone. Due to no investigative leads and no probable cause for an arrest, case was closed pending further information. Due to their children being present during the altercation; CPS was notified regarding the incident. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Theft – Officers were dispatched to a residence in reference to a theft. The investigation revealed a Honda generator to have been stolen from the residence; the investigation is closed pending further information. Status: On-going Investigation

 

Theft – Officers were dispatched to Vee Quiva Casino in reference to a theft. Investigation revealed that the suspect took a cash voucher valued at $200 belonging to the reporting party/victim. The money was returned to the victim and he no longer wished to be a victim or press charges. Status: Closed

 

Theft – The reporting party/victim reported a television was stolen out of their residence. The victim claimed the television was taken between July 1, 2019 and July 4, 2019. The victim suspects a family member and their significant other as the persons responsible to removing the television from the residence. A follow up will be conducted and no charges are being forwarded at this time. Status: On-going Investigation

District One- (Blackwater)

NO INCIDENTS INVOLVING PART ONE CRIME

 

 

District Two – (Sacaton Flats) 

BURGLARY – Officers were dispatched to the area in reference to a side door being kicked in at the Lady of Victory Church. Contact was made with an officer already on scene that was processing the scene. Contact was made with a parishioner; items that were taken were two cases of soda and meat. No other items were missing; the damages to the building were to the lock and drywall of the building. Photos were taken of shoe prints and a bar that was located believed to be used to gain entrance. The suspect is still outstanding at this time. Status:  Open Investigation

 

 

District Three- (Sacaton)

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT - The victim called dispatch to report that the juvenile family member (suspect) threw a fork at the victim during an argument causing pain and discomfort and injury to the upper part of the arm. The suspect was admitted to throwing the fork at the victim during the argument due to being angry. The suspect was arrested and booked into JDRS. Status: Juvenile suspect was arrested and booked into JDRS.

 

 

District Four- 

Stotonic Area – 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT - Officers were dispatched to a stabbing. Investigation revealed the victim was stabbed in the upper abdomen area and the left bicep. Officers rendered aid until GREMS arrived on scene. The victim did not disclose a suspect name/identity; and was transported to Chandler Regional where the victim was treated for non life threatening injuries. Evidence was gathered and entered into evidence.  Status: Open Investigation

 

BURGLARY– Officers were dispatched to the Santan Headstart in reference to a shed that had been damaged. During a walk thru of the building a window was observed to be broken; entrance was gained through the window. Multiple items were found to be strewn all over and food items were opened and left out. Shoe impressions were located and photographed later being impounded into evidence. A copy of the video surveillance will be reviewed to assist in the identification of the suspect(s). Status: Open Investigation

 

 

Lone Butte Area 

Theft – Officers were dispatched to the Lone Butte Casino in reference to a suspect taking the victims purse. Investigation revealed the victim left a purse while gambling and walked off. The suspect claimed to go into the restroom to return the purse and returned to playing the games. The victim then had the purse returned when one gold cross pendant and five gold stud earrings were missing. The suspect has been identified and charges are pending at the moment. Status:  Open Investigation

 

 

District Five- (Casa Blanca)

NO INCIDENTS INVOLVING PART ONE CRIME    

 

    

District Six – (Komatke)

ARSON – Officers were dispatched to the area in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked near the old mission. The vehicle was observed to be completely burned on the interior of the vehicle; a wants/warrants check revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Phoenix PD. Elite took possession of the vehicle. Status: Open Investigation

 

BURGLARY – Officers were dispatched to the area in reference to a burglary. Investigation revealed the suspect(s) damaged a door to gain entry into a building taking an air conditioner unit that cools the electrical panels to the slump. Latent prints were located and will be sent to AZ DPS lab for analysis. Status:  Open Investigation

 

 

District Seven – (Maricopa) 

THEFT – The reporting party/victim reported their vehicle was taken from a residence while giving two other individuals a ride to pick up belongings. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen. Status: Closed – vehicle was located
