25 under 25 winners present at Council

Two winners of UNITY’s “25 Under 25 Award” for 2020, presented to the Gila River Indian Community Council on Wed., June 3. Trina Hart, Tribal Education Departments K-12 Manager, introduced Bianca Hernandez and Yasmine Quiroz who presented the projects they completed as part of the application process for the award.
Hernandez’s project was aimed at increasing financial literacy to GRIC youth in the areas of budgets, credit scores, savings/retirement, credit cards, and loans.
Quiroz’s project was a proposed a 5-year plan to complete a SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis in all of their current agriculture sites, organizational structure, and management would task at Gila River Farms.
Upon closing the presentation, council representatives commended both on their academic accomplishments and goals, and both were encouraged to continue on their paths and return to work for the Community in the future.
