GRIC swears-in Community Council representatives and Chief Judge

The seven winners of the May 5 Community Council election and the winner of the Chief Judge Special Election took the oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony during the first regular monthly meeting of the Community Council on Wednesday, June 3 at the Community Council Chambers in Sacaton. Judge Kami Hart presided over the ceremony.
Community Council certified the results on May 20 for the council candidates and Chief Judge. Returning are Joey Whitman, District 1, Rodney Jackson, District 3, Jennifer Allison District 4, Marlin Dixon, District 5 and Terrance B. Evans, District 6. Regina Antone-Smith, District 4, and James De La Rosa, District 5 are starting their first terms.
Joseph Manuel Sr. was also sworn in after his victory in a special election for Chief Judge of the Gila River Indian Community.
