ASU Fall American Indian Convocation

On Wednesday, Dec. 14, Arizona State University (ASU) held its Fall 2022 American Indian Convocation at the Grady Gammage Auditorium in Tempe. The occasion saw over 300 Native graduates celebrated for their academic achievements.
Graduates gathered with family and friends as they walked across the stage to receive their commemorative Pendelton stoles, including six Gila River Indian Community members;
Robert Horton, Bachelor of Science, Supply Chain Management
Rachael Antone, Bachelor of Arts, Psychology
Korneluis Michael John, Bachelor of Science, Political Science
Kristen Dosela, Bachelor of Education, Early Childhood Education
Yvonne Garcia, Bachelor of Arts, Filmmaking Practices
Francisco Hernandez Jr., Master of Science, Science of Health Care Delivery
Mr. Indigenous ASU First Attendant and GRIC member Napolean Marrietta provided a land acknowledgment for the convocation. Gov. Stephen Roe Lewis and fellow tribal leaders and dignitaries were also present for the occasion.
