As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, the Gila River Indian Community has slowly returned to a sense of normalcy. On Sept. 19, the Community Services Department (CSD) recognized their staff for their hard work during the pandemic.
CSD held a special event at the District 3 Multi-purpose building at 8 a.m. called Community Services Day or “CSD Day” to honor their 340 committed employees for a gratifying celebration.
“The event today is to show appreciation to our CSD employees coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. They were considered frontline staff by providing services to the Community,” said Laurie Thomas, Community Services Dept., Director. “This is our opportunity to network and get to know one another. And this is our first time gathering since the pandemic.”
The CSD Day featured motivational guest speakers and numerous group activities ranging from sports obstacle courses and games to cake walks and trivia.
