Gila River Indian Community’s Human Resource Department is continuously working to ensure staff and personnel are equipped and ready for the job, which begins with orientation for newly hired employees.
The Human Resources Department serves GRIC to attract, select, retain and develop a diverse employee workforce while delivering exceptional customer services in a safe and productive environment.
Lt. Gov. Monica Antone regularly joins human resource staff in welcoming new employees where she has the opportunity to meet each of the attendees, while sharing her work, background, and role within the Community.
In 2022, the Executive Office, as represented by Lt. Gov. Monica Antone, took its first steps in welcoming employees attending the GRIC new employee orientation.
“Included in this welcome are stories of previous career fields, the journey that brought the employee to the Community and even some humorous and detailed fun facts,” said Phillip Morris, Training Specialist for the Human Resources Department.
He added, “The best part of the GRIC welcome is Lt. Governor Antone’s ability to relate her story to the audience, from talking about her family to her previous positions and now as Lt. Governor, executive’s ability to meet the needs of Community members.”
Morris facilitates the orientations, which are held bi-weekly for new hires. Human Resources strives to create hiring and employment opportunities for GRIC members as well as provide training and opportunities for expansion.
